What is measured

The measurement system records the page path, referring hostname, selected UTM campaign tags, active reading time, maximum article depth, and link destinations. It does not retain raw visitor IP addresses, full referrer URLs, form content, or persistent visitor identifiers.

Requests that identify themselves as AI crawlers or AI user-directed fetchers are counted separately by provider, product, crawler name, requested path, and time. Their raw user-agent strings and IP addresses are not retained.

How it works

Each page opening receives a random page-view identifier. After analytics is allowed, a second random identifier is kept only in the current browser tab so pages, reading depth, and clicks from one visit can be viewed together. It is not stored in a cookie, does not identify a person, and disappears when that tab session ends. Referrer and UTM attribution may be kept in the same tab for that visit. Raw measurement records are retained for no longer than 90 days.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is also used for aggregate traffic and performance metrics. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies, local storage, or visitor fingerprinting for analytics.

Your choice

Analytics is not started before a choice in regions where prior consent is required. The site also honors Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track browser signals. A local preference is stored only when needed to remember an allow or decline choice.
